The Ego Through The Lens Of The Heart Chakra

Article: You're Good Enough, Just As You Are: Life Lesson From My Puppy. (2015) Pets are often our teachers.  They bring a presence of unconditional love in our life at times when we need it most.  This presence can help us remember what is good and lovable about who we are - and that there's nothing special that we need to "do" to be loved.

My list of favourite oils to support the Heart Chakra (These oils are available through my dōTERRA website.  Message me if you want to set up a wholesale account for yourself and save 25% off the cost of the retail price) :

  • Bergamot: A soft and citrusy scent.  Feminine, calming, and empowering.  Connects with the unconditional love of the goddess. In meditation, I received the information that this is the oil/scent of the goddess Brigid, and also used in blends for goddess Hecate.
  • Arborvitae Known as the “tree of life,” Arborvitae is majestic in size and abundant in benefits.  It helps centre and ground energy, being an open heart to the energy of Spirit while staying grounded in our body.
  • Douglas Fir has a unique chemical composition that’s particularly rich in beta-pinene. Douglas Fir can also be used to cleanse the skin and has an invigorating aroma.  Breathe in the freshness an expansion of being in a forest!
  • Jasmine is prized for its highly fragrant aroma.  It helps connect with the unconditional love of goddesses, such as Kwan Yin.
  • Marjoram Also known as “joy of the mountains,” Marjoram is valued for its calming aroma.  It helps relieve muscular tension.  Rub it on your neck and shoulders and feel the tension melt away.
  • Rose is the ultimate fragrance of unconditional love.  It has a special resonance with Mother Mary and her healing vibrations.
  • dōTERRA Console® Comforting Blend Combines floral and tree essential oils. The combination of Rose absolute, Ylang Ylang, Frankincense, Sandalwood, and several other highly valued tree and flower essential oils creates a blend rich in both monoterpenes and sesquiterpene alcohols. The final product mirrors its chemical component composition, being highly grounding and renewing.
  • dōTERRA Forgive® Renewing Blend Mixes familiar tree and herb essential oils to create a diverse chemical profile with high concentrations of monoterpene esters and alcohols. Pure Thyme essential oil along with several tree oils produces a blend with renewing and toning properties.
  • dōTERRA® Hope Touch™ This distinct essential oil blend’s inviting scent isn’t only one thing that makes dōTERRA Hope Touch™ truly unique. The full purchase price of each dōTERRA Hope Touch™ bottle is donated to the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation™ which supports O.U.R. Rescue, an organization dedicated to rescuing children from child slavery worldwide.

Here are my go-to crystals when working with the Heart Chakra:

  • Rose Quartz: It is very soothing and vibrates with the energy of unconditional love.  It helps forgiveness process and enhances self-love.  Often associated with the Divine Feminine.
  • Green Aventurine:  Calming and balancing for the heart and lungs.  It enhances healing work.
  • Watermelon Tourmaline: It contains both pink and green vibrations, bringing life force energy in the body while soothing and harmonizing.  It helps reconcile opposites and heal confusion.  It helps bring loving harmony to the various aspects of the self.
  • Peridot: The product of volcanic activity, this crystal activates the Heart Chakra.  It assists the releasing of negative emotions that are linked to the heart, such as jealousy, envy, hate and anger.  It can help move through the emotions blocking or holding us back from truly loving, injecting more compassion, love and calmness.  I often wore a small chip of peridot secured by a round bandaid right over my heart when I worked in cubicle world!

  • Your breath
  • The wind
  • Feathers
  • Green plants

These following yoga poses and exercises will help you balance the energy of your Heart Chakra:

  • Cobra
  • Heart-to-knee forward bend
  • Fish pose
  • Hands in prayer pose either in front of your heart or, if you have the flexibility, behind your back at heart level. This will open your chest and help you radiate your heart forward.

You will need a mason jar filled halfway with water; a few drops of green food colouring; 4 candles in their individual fireproof dish; matches or lighter; sea salt.  It's preferable to do this spell outdoors, but if you can't be outdoors have a pot filled with soil near you.

  • Arrange the candles in a circle so there is one in each of the four directions: east, south, west and north.  The circle need not be very big - wide enough so you  have space to move within the circle.
  • Place the mason jar of water, the food colouring and (if you're indoors), the potted soil (make sure there's a drip dish underneath).
  • Grab your matches or lighter and the sea salt.  Go to the East.  Say a prayer of intention to the spirits of the East.  Here's an example:
    • To the winds of the East and the element of Air,

I invite you to fill me with Sacred Breath.

Blow away the old, and breathe in the new.

Help me allow the winds of change in my life without resisting them.

      Thank you, and welcome!

  • Light the candle.  Take the sea salt and trace a line from the east to the south.
  • Say a prayer to the Spirits of the south
    • To the spirits of the South and the element of Fire

We invite you to alight the flame of passion and desire within our sacred cauldron

Burn away regrets, old pains, and attitudes that don’t serve us on this path.

Help us be the flame that ignites the light of others and spread more love and healing through the world.

      Thank you, and welcome!

  • Light the candle.  Take the sea salt and trace a line from the south to the west.
  • Say a prayer to the Spirits of the west
    • To the spirits of the West and the element of water

We invite you to cleanse our emotions and thoughts.

Allow us to explore the ebbs and flow of life, and of our emotions.

      Purify and nourish our souls.

      Thank you, and welcome!

  • Light the candle.  Take the sea salt and trace a line from the west to the north.
  • Say a prayer to the Spirits of the north
    • To the spirits of the North and the element of earth

We invite you to hold us, support us, reconnect us with the richness of this physicality

So we feel firmly rooted and present

Help us anchor divine energy in this physical dimension.

      Thank you, and welcome!

  • Light the candle.  Take the sea salt and trace a line from the  north to the east, closing the circle.  You now have sacred space.  Go to the middle of the circle. Say a prayer to the Goddess / Spirit
    • Divine Goddess, Father Sun, Grandmother Moon, to the Star Nations

Great Spirit, you who are known by a thousand names

And you who are the unnamable One

Thank you allowing me to sing the Song of Life

Help me release misaligned energies so my Heart glows with unconditional love and compassion.

      Thank you, and welcome!

  • Pick up the mason jar and add several drops of the green food colouring to the water. (You might want to put the cover on the jar). Standing, swirl the jar carefully and watch the water turn a deep shade of green.  Visualize and intend that any spite, envy or jealousy that is in your heart or being directed your way by others is being incorporated into that green water.  Do not become angry... simply allow for these emotions to flow to the water.  Emotions might come up... witness them and allow them to flow through.
  • Hold the jar in front of you and state out loud:
    • I feel the envy that is turning you green
I do not allow them to ruin my Dream

      I stand surrounded in Light
This spell protects me until your heart shines bright.
  • Carefully and consciously pour the water into the Earth where the unwanted energy will easily dissipate.
    • No more negativity around or within me will be found;
I put all envy, spite, jealousy and anger to the ground.
  • Stay in the circle and meditate, drawing into you clear, fresh Earth energy.  Feel the winds of change.  Allow the old emotions to blow through you and be taken away.
  • When you feel complete, say a prayer of gratitude.
  • Go around the Circle counterclockwise from the North to the East and give thanks to all the directions as you release them and extinguish the candle.  When complete, state out loud, "This spellwork is complete.  The Circle is closed."
  • If you were indoors, use a broom to pick up the salt, and place it in potted soil to be released later in Nature. Pick up and clean up your supplies.  Wash the glass jar with salt water to clear lingering magic.
  • Rest, journal, breathe.
